Her main aim in life is to escape her traditional parents, get to university and begin her plan for tech world domination.
He’s rich, good-looking and a hopeless romantic. His parents think Dimple is the perfect match for him, but she’s got other plans…
Dimple and Rishi may think they have each other figured out. But when opposites clash, love works hard to prove itself in the most unexpected ways.
I’m a definite sucker for a good book hype. The hype surrounding When Dimple Met Rishi was one of the biggest I have seen, so naturally I couldn’t not read it. It didn’t matter that this was a genre that I usually won’t even touch with a ten-foot pole, I needed to read this book and see for myself if it’s just as good as they say.
Okay so yeah, usually sappy love stories are things I try to keep away from as far as possible. Chances were that I would need to push myself to finish When Dimple Met Rishi and hate every second of the story. Lucky for me, within one chapter I knew that I was going to LOVE this book.
Seriously? That’s what you think I should be relegating my brain space to? Looking nice? Like, if I don’t make the effort to look beautiful, my entire existence is nullified? Nothing else matters-not my intellect, not my personality or my accomplishments; my hopes and dreams mean nothing if I’m not wearing eyeliner?
Let’s start with our main characters Dimple and Rishi and the main reason why I adore this book. Rishi is a hopeless romantic like they can only exist in novels. Usually this would make me gag to no end, but the fact that it was a guy being so unabashedly romantic made it so freaking cute somehow. Dimple is the complete opposite and from now on my forever girl-crush. She wants to break away from tradition, become the master of her own future in PROGRAMMING and will not settle for only being the pretty wife of someone. (Seriously guys, CAN SHE BE MY BFF?)
But that was Rishi… he was like a pop song you thought you couldn’t stand, but found yourself humming in the shower anyway.
That’s a pair of characters that I can only love and I got REALLY invested in their relationship. Like, extremely invested. I flew through the book and only put it down when I didn’t have a choice. And whenever that happened, I actually hugged the thing and looked at it longingly. When Dimple Met Rishi took over my life for a little while.
This is one of the cute, addictive Summer reads that needs to be on your radar. It deserves the hype it’s been getting and should actually reserve more. If you haven’t put this on your TBR yet, you’re seriously missing out. What an amazing, perfect, adorable and awesome read!
Have you read this book? If not, does it sound interesting to you? If yes, what did you think? Let me know in the comments!
