Every time I’m close to finishing a series I need to finish list, I start thinking about the series I want to add to my next list. So, now I’m one book away of finishing part 4, I started thinking about part 5. And like every time I do this, I also came across some series I definitely will not be finishing. Because of reasons…
The Fandom by Anna Day
When I picked up this book, I expected a cute contemporary read about being a fan of something (something like Queens of Geek yaknow), BUT THAT’S NOT WHAT I GOT AND I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED. The story that I did get was not my thing at all and I’m not planning on continuing the series. (#StubbornFace)
Zenith by Sasha Alsberg & Lindsay Cummings
Aaaah Zenith, one of the most hyped books of 2018, yet it seemed to be hated a lot too. I had very low expectations going in and was pleasantly surprised by the style of writing, but almost half of the story in the book was absolutely redundant. I realize that it will be important in the rest of the series, but I will not pick up the sequel. The first book was just so tedious to get through, and in the end I just didn’t like the story.
The Cage by Megan Shepherd
I had fun reading this book right up until I was smelling some Stockholm syndrome. (*snif snif*) I will not continue the series as I do not want to find myself in the mid of inter-species relations. Just. No. The guy is keeping you hostage on another planet, how the hell do you have time to fall in love???
The Graces by Laure Eve
Twilight with witches. ‘Nough said.
Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch
I so adored the premised of the first book, but I couldn’t really care for what’s happening due to the style of writing. I’m not going to continue the rest of the series as I just didn’t enjoy it. Which is an absolute shame because I wanted to like it so much.
Do you also have so many series that you never finished? Do you have a game plan to finish them? Did you read any of the series on this list and what were your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!
